The Celebrate Life Virtual Run or Cycle Series
Despite all the tough times and challenges of the past months, and the challenges many are still facing, we still have so much to be thankful for, to be happy about, to celebrate. It is in this spirit that we’re launching the Celebrate Life Virtual Run or Cycle series – three events to take us through the cold months of winter.
So get your sneakers ready (or grab that bike) and dig out your warm layers – have we got some chill challenges for you! And of course there will be rewards for your efforts, including the coolest one-of-a-kind, locally hand-crafted participation medals.
Location: Anywhere in New Zealand
Event date: June, July and August 2020
North Range Trio
The North Range Trio offers three off-road events that cater to everyone’s needs.
The 50km Catchment Ultra and the 25km North Range Traverse (both point-to-point events) as well as the equally challenging 12.5km out-and-back Hall Block Humdinger are set among the picturesque wind farms of the northern Tararua ranges.
The 2020 edition of the Trio has been cancelled but we will be back in 2021.
Location: The Ferry Reserve, Ballance
Event date: Saturday, 28 August 2021
Manawatu Moonlight Madness
The Manawatu Moonlight Madness is a fun, family-friendly and affordable nighttime trail running / walking series. Scheduled over three consecutive Wednesday nights, the series takes in Palmerston North, Levin and Ashhurst, for a showcase of awesome trails in the region.
This year the series starts with the Full Moon Folly, an exciting jaunt in Palmerston North, running next to the Manawatu river. Second up is the Half Moon Hoopla, an invigorating, hilly outing in the Kohitere Forest outside Levin. Finally, we head to Ashhurst for the New Moon Shenanigans, a fun, social saunter through the Ashhurst Domain trails, including a leg-stretch along the Manawatu river trail.
The 2020 edition of the Moonlight Madness series has been cancelled but we will be back in 2021
Locations: Palmerston North, Levin, Ashhurst

Taihape Gumboot Gallop
Formerly known as the Taihape Half Marathon, the 2020 Taihape Gumboot Gallop run/walk came complete with a new course, new start/finish venue and medals and we hope to bring you an even bigger and better event in 2021.
Passing through the picturesque Utiko hills south of Taihape, the Taihape Gumboot Gallop is an annual fundraiser for St Joseph’s School in Taihape.
It comprises a Half Marathon Adventure Run/Walk, a 12km Run/Walk, a 5km Fun Run and a 2.5km Kids Run. Following these events, just before prize giving, there’s free Gumboot Gallop – a mad dash through the paddocks in gumboots (compulsory) and fancy dress (optional).
Location: 150 Wairanu Rd, Taihape
Event date: Saturday, 27 March 2021
Santoft Forest and Beach
The Santoft Forest and Beach Adventure Run/Walk is hosted in the Santoft forest outside Bulls in the Rangitikei coastal countryside.
We hope to be able to make a final call on the running of the 2020 event before the end of June 2020..
Starting on the edge of the forest, your run/walk will include rolling forestry roads and (if you’re doing the half marathon) some pristine west coast beach terrain. The event caters for both runners and walkers.
This event comes to you as a fundraiser for the South Makirikiri School.
Location: Santoft Forest outside Bulls
Event date: Saturday, 17 October 2020 (to be confirmed)
